Din Tai Fung

I am not sure if this is a great place to have dinner and have a girlie chat. The tables next to ours a were rather rowdy and fairly drunk, personally it wasn’t a pleasant place where you want to have a chat, I could be wrong and it just happened to be the night we went on

So what did we have..

Steamed Crab Meat and Pork Dumplings and Steamed Chicken Dumplings: both of which are also known as xiao long bao, they are dumpling with a soup and a filling centre. The dumpling were sitting in a cotton sheet inside a bamboo steamer allowing any condensation to seep through and not trapped in the container so it won’t get soggy. The pastry was thin and there was a small amount of soup inside but not over seasoned. I thought I would be wowed but I was not, I guess it was still enjoyable

Fried Rice with Egg: we had a choice of brown or white rice and we opted for white. Well seasoned served with spring onions

Steamed Vegetable Bun: I liked this, with greens, shiitake mushrooms and vermicelli it’s a winner.

Stirred fried broccoli: fragrant with ginger and stilled remained crunchy.
