Rules

Rules is the oldest restaurant in London serving traditional British food, specialising in classic game cookery. Beautifully decorated vintage restaurant

Breast of Pheasant with cider, bacon, apples & cream • I loved the apples, they were not tart and it didn’t overpower the dish. There was a generous amount of sauce which was creamy but light and not rich nor heavy. Served with seasonal vegetables of carrots and cabbage.  The Breast of Pheasant was cooked as per chef’s recommendation and it was tender a little crisp on the skin.

Bakewell Pudding with Vanilla Cream • When I first saw it I thought it would be dry but it wasn’t.  It had a puff pastry base with a sponge cake in the middle topped with fruits and vanilla ice cream. When I cut into the Pudding it was oozing a pink syrup.  It was not too sweet and I loved the raspberries
