Bella Italia

We were a little stuck for ideas so we decided to try Bella Italia. It has been a while and seeing my niece is a huge fan of pasta we thought we would give it a try. We shared a few starters, I tried the Calamari where the squid was fried in a light batter with lemon and garlic mayonnaise.  It was chopped to pieces rather than rings, coated in batter and it was slightly seasoned. I think it would have went well with a slice of lemon as I was not a great fan of the mayo.   I also tried the Chicken Wings Italiano, they said it was marinated chicken wings in a balsamic barbecue sauce.  It doesn’t look or tasted like it was marinated, it looks like it was cooked separately and then the sauce was placed on top which wa very disappointing.

For my main I had the Pollo Pancetta Lasagne which is made up of layers of fresh pasta, slices of roast chicken breast and crispy pancetta in a cheese sauce.  The sauce leaned to the salty side the chicken was a little bland so it evens out.  I can’t really see the lasagne side because the dish itself was rather shallow and you can’t really see the layers.

My niece went for the kid’s three course menu, to start she had the Cheesy Garlic Bread, Spaghetti and to finish ice cream.
